General Notes:
Georg originated from the Freiherrschaft Sax area of Switzerland. We know he was buried in Gretchins 3 July 1683 and that he was 71 years of age. This lets us calculate that he was born in 1612. Translated from the records of Gretchins, Georg bought Wartau citizenship for himself, his wife and children for 386 Guilders and a measure of wine in 1665, after buying freedom from the Barons of Sax first. A separate document describes that he later also bought citizenship of Oberschan. "The community of Oberschan has come to an agreement with Jorg Hanselmann in summer of 1672 and has accepted him as a community member."
