   General Notes:

John Gillespie Ewing was a professor of mathematics and later of history and economics at Notre Dame University. He was a State deputy of Indiana Knights of Columbus. Who's Who in America, 1903-1905, page 567.

In June of 1907, under the direction and supervision of John G. Ewing, the remains of George Ewing and Rachel Harris were removed from their original gravesites on the banks of the Ohio River in Tobin Township and were placed in Cliff Cemetery, Cannelton, Indiana.
