General Notes:
Charles was the only son of James Ewing and Martha Bond. He graduated from Princeton in 1798 and was accepted to the bar in 1802. He was Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court from 1824-1832, dying in office. Ewing, urban township, Mercer Co., west central New Jersey, on the Delaware River was settled about 1700 and was named for Charles Ewing. It's population in 1990 was 35,000. 43
