Marriage recorded in PERRY COUNTY INDIANA MARRIAGES 1814-1952. On 1850 Perry Co. Census in home of brother-in-law and sister, Greenbury Livingood and Abigail Ewing Livingood. He was listed as age 20, b. IN, occup ation, Plasterer. On 1860 Perry Co. census in Cannelton Troy Twp, p. 64, #465 age 29, b. IN, occupation was laborer.

His death was listed in 1882-1900 PERRY COUNTY INDIANA DEATH RECORDS , Bk. CO1p. 25. d. age 60 (1890.) Lafayette Ewing's wife, Nancy J., i s buried in the Stephenson Cemetery, Union Twp., Perry Co. IN; it i s not known if Lafayette is also buried there. Mosby's HISTORY OF PERRY CO.,IN lists a death date for Lafayette of 16 Oct. 1885.

On Perry Co. IN 1870 Census in Union Twp., p. 415, family #68, Lafayette Ewing is listed as age 39 with wife Nancy also age 39 and seven c hildren.

The book PERRY COUNTY, A HISTORY by Thomas James De La Hunt, 1916, p . 45, lists Lafayette Ewing as being a son of George Ewing, Jr. The book GEORGE EWING, GENTLEMAN, A SOLDIER OF VALLEY FORGE p. 77 lists Lafayette's name as Marquis de LaFayette.
