Sarah was the mother of eight children; only the names of seven are k nown at this time. Their birth order is not known. The book, GEORG E EWING, GENTLEMAN, A SOLDIER OF VALLEY FORGE, p. 78 indicates that A bigail and Rachel were twins; along with their brother Charles they w ere adopted by Senator Thomas Ewing, Sarah's brother. Their brothe r Henry was also reared by the Senator.
