Robert was a graduate of the University of PA 1838 and was admitted to the bar in 1840. He was a banker and he organized the financial system of the Fidelity Trust Co. of Philadelphia. He was an authority on coinage, member of the council of American Philosophy Society, and worked with instruction of the blind. 39
